Why You Should NEVER Give Up

You can do it! Whatever you are working on, or ensnared in, though it sometimes seems more than you could possibly handle, is well within your powers. You didn’t come here to fail. You came to face new challenges, and to prevail. There is nothing you are facing that you can’t deal with. Why would you have come, only to face insurmountable odds? That would make no sense.)

Relax, and remind yourself of your true capabilities

deep breathTake a deep breath. Calm yourself. As long as it’s safe to do so and you’re taking all normal precautions, close your eyes. Just relax. Let go of all that tension. Remind yourself of what you already know – that you are more than capable of doing this thing. When you feel beaten, remind yourself that your ‘best’ efforts are no more than a relatively low percentage of your true abilities. You truly are powerful beyond imagination. You can stretch. You can push. You’re more than capable of achieving all that you desire. You were made to prevail … to achieve. Stop doubting yourself.

All the time you were growing up, you faced difficulties. All youngsters do, animals and humans alike. We all go through tough times. Even those born into the very heights of privilege, they come face to face with difficulties too. Their problems might wilt in comparison to yours and mine, but to them, they are just as harsh. It’s part of the human condition.

We have to learn stuff, and learn to implement it, and learn to cope with others. None of this is easy. Sometimes it’s undeniably hard. We have to learn to navigate the rapids of society, assuming we even make it through family life in one piece. And we have to make the best of dealing with relationships, another minefield awaiting our creeping and tremulous steps.

Churchill steadied an entire nation’s nerves with his steely attitude

never give upNever give up. Winston Churchill famously said this, repeatedly, in a speech to his old school, Harrow, in 1941. It became a watchword for the entire nation. And it can be your motto too. Never give up … NEVER!

Yes, you will suffer hard times. Yes, you will be knocked down and kicked while you’re down there. And yes, your head will be bloodied, but hopefully, unbowed. Yes, your good times will sometimes turn sour and you’ll feel like it’s the bitter end, with no chance of turning it around. But never give up, don’t even give that thought house room. Remind yourself of this, again and again. Never give up! Never! You will prevail!

Your attitude and your determination will see you through. Prepare now, before the storm hits you, by repeatedly telling yourself, when faced with daunting challenges, that you will never give up. Never, no matter how fearful the circumstances, no matter how one-sided the odds. Never give up!

Of course you will be successful … quit doubting it!

You will prevail. You’ll come out the other side, scarred but tougher for the experience. And you will be secure in the knowledge that there is nothing that you cannot do. And there is nothing you ever need fear. You might even get to the stage of welcoming obstacles and torments, because you know they’re there for a reason … to test your resolve. Without them, there would be no real success. It would be way too easy!
