Inspiration and Motivation from Mike Tyson
Mike Tyson needs no introduction from me. He’s one of the most well known men on the planet. And his life has seen some amazing ups and downs. If the whole thing had been scripted, it would seem too melodramatic to be taken seriously. But it’s real. It happened. And it’s still happening.
Born into abject poverty, in a dog-eat-dog world … arrested dozens of times as a wild and violent young teenager … taken under the wing of a great mentor, Cus d’Amato, who guided him and changed his life … becoming the heavyweight boxing champion of the world … using his new-found wealth to indulge in the high life (sometimes with low lifes) … doing time for rape … the roll call of his escapades goes on and on.
Wealth and fame, and all the problems that accompany them
He made millions and he lost millions, in all kinds of ways, not least in legal battles. He became sorely addicted to drink and drugs and that addiction could easily have been the end for him, a sad end to a remarkable life. But he fought back, like a true fighter, and decided his life was worth more than the demons that plagued him. With the ferocity and tenacity he’s famous for, he overcame his adversaries and freed himself from them.
He has become a truly inspiring individual. He knows now that he is more than just a hulking brute of a man, he’s a man who recognises his spirituality, and isn’t afraid to talk about it. He uses his fame and influence to help others fight their demons. He inspires them and his example motivates them to believe in themselves.
Watch this short video about Mike Tyson. If your perception of him is of a crude, thuggish, almost mindless individual, you owe it to yourself to meet the real Mike Tyson.
