Got Five Minutes To Spare?
Your mind, that is, your subconscious mind, rules your life. We like to think that the conscious mind is in charge, but the fact is that almost everything you do is as a result of the subconscious. So when you ‘fail’ at something, it’s because your mind wasn’t prepared to allow you to succeed. Your self image was still stuck in a less than positive state, so it’s no surprise that your mind cannot allow you to succeed. It is, after all, a success-seeking mechanism, but if it’s routinely fed the wrong information it can do nothing but spit out the wrong result.
If, however, you use your imagination, repeatedly, to envision that which you desire, your self image will be strengthened and you will be able to achieve what you desire.
What you really believe determines your future
Your core beliefs are what determine your future. And they are encoded deep in your self-image. You might think you are being positive, but if you cling on to negative ideas and attitudes that you learned years ago, or even decades ago, then success will keep on evading you.
Don’t despair! You can change your self image. You can purge those negative beliefs and attitudes and you can adopt new beliefs and attitudes and develop them until they become a part of you.
Whether you fail or succeed, you are responsible
You are the creator. You are responsible for your success, or lack of it. If you don’t bother to change your self image, you will keep seeking success but your chances of attaining it are severely limited. If, on the other hand, you spend five or ten minutes a day focusing your mind on what you truly desire, and if you imagine that it has already been achieved, and if you can experience the feelings that come with that achievement, you will be re-engineering your brain to attract and create success.
Five or ten minutes a day. That’s how hard it is. Or how easy, depends how you choose to look at it. Just five or ten minutes a day. Can you do that? Can you commit to doing it every day from today? Is it really too much to ask? If you can’t do this, can you really be surprised that success will continue to slip out of your grasp, no matter how hard you try to catch it and make it yours?
If you want to change, you have to first become conscious of what you’ve been telling yourself for so very long. Have you been accusing yourself of not being good enough, or smart enough, or determined enough? Then that’s why you are where you are now! Once you change this internal dialogue to something more positive, then your mind will be ready to create the success you desire. But if you struggle for success, yet cling to your notions of lack and inability, then success will continue to stay just out of your reach.
Choose your words wisely … they prophesy your future
Your life will move in the direction of your words. The words you say out loud, and the ones you think in your own mind, are a prophecy of what is to come. If you keep down-playing your own abilities and chances, then you will continue to meet with mediocrity. If you start to speak of yourself as a winner, a determined person, a force to be reckoned with, then success will start to chase you and it will find you.
